4 Tips for Navigating Holidays & Unexpected Pregnancy
Stress. Overwhelm. Business. The holiday season is often one of the most stressful times of the year. Work deadlines, bad weather, prepping and shopping, combined with navigating and balancing family relationships can be difficult. Adding an unexpected pregnancy to the list of items to worry about can be difficult and overwhelming. Check out these 4 tips to help you regain a sense of peace and calm.
- Make Time to Rest
Resting is probably the last thing on your mind – there’s just too much to do! Still, make an effort to get to bed at a reasonable time (set an alarm on your phone if you have to!). Proper sleep and rest make all the difference to approaching the day with a clear mind. Plus, tasks are accomplished faster when you’re recharged and refreshed.
- Eat Well and Hydrate
A handful of Cheeze-Its and a soda do not count as lunch. Your body is working hard enough – make sure to fuel up with meals and snacks that make you feel your best. Stable blood sugar levels and proper hydration will help your mood, productivity, and so much more.
- Enjoy the Season
While lost in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it can be difficult to remember to enjoy it! Sip your favorite cocoa, listen to festive music as you wrap, and enjoy some holiday cheer.
- Ask for Help
You don’t have to do this alone. Ask a trusted friend or family member to help, or just make time to chat with someone close. If you aren’t sure how to start, a team member at the Front Royal Pregnancy Center can help you! Whether you need a listening ear or help talking through your situation, we’re here to help. You can discuss pregnancy options and resources and build a network of supportive women who care about YOU. Make an appointment today.
